The Four Flat

Urban landscapes appear only occasionally in Rosalie's work, making The Four Flat a particularly personal piece. Inspired by a building where members of her extended family once lived, the painting recalls a four-flat apartment in a Lithuanian neighborhood on Chicago's southwest side during Rosalie's childhood. Although many of the details have been lost to time, the memory of the building has remained. Through this painting, Rosalie pays tribute to her family's roots and the neighborhood that helped shape her early years, preserving a cherished memory through art.
